It is highly recommended nowadays for people to change their eating habits to organic food. There are many reasons for this recommendation and below are ten important ones.

1. Unlike today popular food from the supermarkets, organic produce never comes into contact with any poisonous chemicals. A conventionally grown apple usually has around 20 to 30 artificial poisons on it that cannot be removed by simple rinsing.

2. On average, organic produce contains 50% more vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other micro-nutrients than intensively farmed produce.

3. The only way you can avoid eating genetically modified (GM) food is by switching to organic.

4. Dairy cows and farm animals on intensive farm are fed dangerous anti-biotics, growth promoting drugs, anti-parasite drugs and many other medicines on a daily basis.

5. GM Soya is fed to approximately 99% of non-organic farm animals.

6. Organic food tastes so much better.

7. Intensive farming can lead to erosion of the soil, a huge fall in the population of wild birds, the destruction of ancient hedgerows, and the near extinction of butterflies, frogs, grass-snakes and wild mammals. On the other hand, organic farms support wildlife.

8. Directly, organic food a little more expensive than intensively farmed foods. However, indirectly, we spend billions of pounds every year dealing with the mess that agro-chemicals cause to our natural water supply.

9. With intensive farming methods, there are much higher instances of cancer, respiratory problems and other major diseases. There is a strong possibility that this is linked to the agro-chemicals.

10. Go organic to save the countryside and let our children experience it the way we once did.
